Told you guys it is not worth $50. However, in the Galactic Edition, the National Geographic review on "How to make a better being" is worth watching. It is solid knowledge at least. The developers did a great job on making this game simply because the OOP design, the algorithm to paint and to customize creature yet still maintain some generic concepts. However, it is the publisher's fault, EA, which treated everyone as if criminals with DRM. It certainly will not stop piracy and believe me, the sales of Spore isn't going well; at least not as well as they planed to be.

Yeah, it is shallow, but it is a solid framework. Lets just hope the Xpacks ramp up the depth and the complexity. Everything here is gold, there just isn't a lot here.

As hundreds have said - its needs more depth. sure its a very creative game, and if you enjoy making new creations then you'll have a great time.

However if your not a fan of going to a planet and scanning some alien, capturing alien, destroying pirates, hunting relics/artifacts then repeat a thousand times this game is not for you.

I'm kinda hoping more updates/patches are released with further more indepth missions in the near future.

To repeat, just like the game, awesome idea yet somewhat flawed.

Ahh... If your a person that likes to get straight to the point; play the game: Probly not your game. I ejnoy Spore very much for the in depth creature creation and character development. I just love getting into my own story lines and designing descriptions of each alien race. X^D For me, totaly worth the money.

Shallow gameplay, DRM implementation, what were they thinking? I dont understand what demographic they had in mind when they designed this pile of garbage, If it was the non-gamer, they must not think too highly of their intelligence levels. Connect four has more depth than this game.

Fun for a while. But after a few days of hardcore playing you have done all there is to do and will not be dieing to play it again. Not worth $50. Stages are to short and shallow. The game rewards you for doing the first stages in less then a hour each. Once you are playing the space stage after a good 5-6 hours, money is useless and you'll done all you have can in space stage a bunch of times already.

I was excited about Spore, but I will not buy it as long as EA is implementing their ridiculous DRM policy. They went from criminally insane (activation every 10 days), to stupid and annoying (3 computer limit, with one account per install).

I am tired of being treated like a criminal after PAYING for a game!! DRM does not stop piracy! It only annoys the paying customer!

I refuse to pay for a product which keeps me under surveillance and will eventually stop working, as EA will not provide a reactivation service forever.

I think this game is one of the best game for child, but the circumstance change it. So I'm still playing this game although I'm a teenager.

It's a weee bit childish and lacks depth in areas but despite that it's one heck of a shindig. gamespot was right it in giving it 8.0; still tons of fun though.

I got the game yesterday and played non-stop. I stopped playing when I reached Civilization stage. This is really a cool game! I love the way you can discover new parts to modify your creature with. The only stage that disappointed so far was the Tribal Stage. I just expected more. Overall this game was pretty excellent. Cant wait till I get to Space Stage!
